The Department of Evolutionary Developmental Genetics is looking for a student assistant (f\/m\/d) in October and November 2026 with 40 hours per month to support research in the area of \u200b\u200binsect brain development and evolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We apply that method to compare homologous neurons between flies and beetles. The number of hours is 40 hours per month. We are an international and collaborative lab. For this purpose, prepared brains from the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster and the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum are required to analyze neuronal cells at the single-nuclei level using single-nuclei RNA sequencing. Many brains need to be cleanly prepared for subsequent dissociation into single nuclei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
The remuneration is based on the applicable regulations for student assistants (MSc or BSc). The activity begins on October 1, 2026. We would like to have a previous trial work to make sure that the brain preparations suit you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
